Port Arthur Rotary donation helps make educational dreams come true for local student

The Dilico Children’s Foundation is pleased to announce that the Port Arthur Rotary Club has made a generous donation to former Dilico Crown Ward Jessica Nunes. The $1000 donation will help Jessica as she starts her first year at Lakehead University. Jessica is enrolled in the Honours Bachelor of Arts program, majoring in Psychology and plans to pursue Music Therapy as a career.
The Rotary brings together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards and helps build goodwill and peace. Founded in 1905 by Chicago businessman Paul Harris, Rotary is the largest international humanitarian service organizations in the world with over 33,000 clubs in over 200 countries worldwide. The Port Arthur Rotary has worked with local organizations such as the Dilico Children’s Foundation, Dew Drop Inn, Shelter House, Salvation Army, and on International projects like building a clinic in Guatamala.
The Dilico Children’s Foundation was established to help provide life enriching experiences to children and families who face social and economic barriers. By working with businesses like the PA Rotary, the Foundation helps children, youth and families access a range of activities, experiences and support to enhance their quality of life; recognize their individual potential and achieve their life goals.
